Pediatric Rehabilitation
Specialized training and clinical experience in pediatric rehabilitation, with a focus on helping children improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, gross motor development and functional independence.
Vestibular Certification
Specialized training in the assessment and treatment of vestibular and balance-related conditions, including interventions designed to improve balance, coordination, postural control and functional mobility.
LSVT BIG® Certification
Specialized certification in the LSVT BIG® treatment approach, an evidence-based program designed to address movement impairments associated with Parkinson’s disease, with emphasis on improving movement amplitude, mobility, balance and everyday functional performance.
Our goal goes beyond completing exercises during a therapy session. We work to help children develop the skills they need to move, communicate, participate, play, learn and become as independent as possible in their everyday lives.
We also recognize the important role of parents, caregivers, teachers and other healthcare professionals. When appropriate, our therapists provide education and recommendations that help carry therapeutic strategies into the child's daily routine.
Our Approach
Individualized, functional, family-centered, engaging and goal-oriented.
Evaluate
The therapist assesses the child's abilities, challenges, medical history, developmental needs and functional goals.
Plan
An individualized plan of care is developed based on the child's specific needs.
Adapt
Progress is monitored throughout treatment, and interventions are modified as the child develops new skills.
Whenever appropriate, we collaborate with parents, caregivers, physicians, teachers, schools, PPEC staff and other members of the child's healthcare team to encourage continuity of care.
